The Delaware Paralegal Association (DPA) is a comprehensive resource to paralegals in the state of Delaware. Providing a complete network of employment, educational, and pro bono opportunities to its over 200 members, DPA is committed to promoting and maintaining high standards within the legal community of the first state.

 A paralegal is a person qualified by education or work experience who is authorized to perform tasks requiring substantive legal knowledge that would otherwise by law, rule or ethics be performed exclusively by an attorney.

To promote and maintain high standards and ethics in the profession, to provide a forum for the exchange of information about the profession, to enhance the role of paralegals in the legal community and to encourage the continuing legal education of paralegals.

Please renew your membership online by clicking the "Renew" button in your Member Profile.  To get to your profile, click on your name at the top of the web page.  Under the Profile tab you will see a gray box that says "Renew to July 01, 2023" next to "Renewal due on."



Recent updates to the File & ServeXpress platform in response to rule changes by the Delaware Court of Chancery, effective September 15, 2025. These changes include a new electronic Supplemental Information Sheet, refined definitions for related cases, and an automated case assignment system.

    If you are over the age of 18 and/or a Delaware Notary, please consider joining us at our Wills for Seniors clinic on October 26, 2025 at the Delaware Law School Widener University 4601 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware. 

    Wills for Seniors clinics are a coordinated effort between the Delaware State Bar Association (DSBA), Delaware Volunteer Legal Services (DVLS), and Delaware Paralegal Association (DPA), designed to provide free legal estate planning services to eligible senior citizens in Delaware. Senior citizens meet with volunteer attorneys who draft a basic will, advanced medical directive, and power of attorney. These documents are prepared onsite, executed, and finalized the same day.

    Volunteers are needed for notarizing, witnessing, and if necessary, drafting assistance. We will provide training, and breakfast & lunch are provided.

    Two shifts are available for volunteering: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm or from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. You may sign up for one, or both shifts.

    Remember, for every 3 hours of legal-based pro bono work, you receive 1 DPA CLE credit towards renewing your DCP certification.
